In the Supercar Paddock, we had the Lightning GT, Delta E4, Ecotricity’s Nemesis, and the Westfield Sport-E and iRacer. All good, but these EVs aren’t exactly motors for the masses. The Lightning’s going to be a £200,000-odd super-coupe to be made in a boutique production run at best; the 150mph Delta is nearly as rarefied; the Nemesis is unlikely to be more than a one-off (though it is trialling wind-powered charging); and the Westfields, though potentially an accessible way into motorsport, have only niche appeal.
