Ford unveils electric Focus

Ford has unveiled its production version of the electric Focus, with simultaneous events in London and New York.

Ford has been trialling prototypes of the electric Focus as part of the same TSB-funded trial of which EEMS Accelerate is a part. The cars just unveiled incorporate a range of features including a new battery temperature control system, touch-screen controls and even an i-phone app to control some features remotely. Ford has also partnered with Microsoft to provide software that in the US will control the charging of the vehicle, selecting the cheapest electricity.
